“ Alma Mater” Latin for “ nurturing mother “
We the MBBS batch of 1991 were nurtured by our Alma Mater, Government Medical College, Thrissur . The best days of our life were spent here. The friends we made, the years, months, days and the moments we shared together were priceless. Indescribable were the joys of our college life.
The six long years that we spent here forged a camaraderie between us dispelling all doubts, fears and reservations of the daunting medical course. All 100s of us learned the simple truth that being a doctor requires not just intellectual power but incredible emotional strength and devotion too. The trials and tribulations of medical college prepared us for the rigors beyond.
Though at present we are scattered in various parts of the world the common string of love, mutual respect and friendship made us remain united. On the day of our get together in Thalikkulam in 2009 many of us shared the same feeling of doing something for the less privileged people in our society to keep alive the memories of our dear friends Dr.Joseph.C. George and Dr.Vini Vishwam who have left for their heavenly abode.
Then it took a few more years for the Smrithi charitable trust to be born. As we enter into our 25th year of our noble profession, cherishing the sweet memories of college life, we the 1991batch MBBS students have metamorphosed into the responsible members of Smrithi Charitable Trust.
We salute our Alma Mater for nurturing and binding us together.
